Walter H. Barandiaran is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of The Argentum Group. Walter has more than 15 years of private equity investment experience, during which time he has led over 30 investments for Argentum's funds. Walter’s areas of investment expertise include outsourced business services, technology-enabled services, and clean (environmental) technologies & services.

Prior to co-founding Argentum in 1988, Walter was a Senior Vice President, Corporate Finance at Steinberg & Lyman (now Healthcare Ventures, LLC).

Walter serves on the Boards of AFS Technologies (enterprise software for the food industry), Environmental Quality Management (remediation, consulting & engineering), Wimba (collaboration software tools for online education), Conner Industries (lumber distribution & manufacturing), LifeStar (healthcare transportation & logistics), Matthews Book Company (fulfillment services for medical products), M3 Technologies (advanced material sciences), and Metalico (diversified metals recycling).

Walter received a BBA in International Business from Baruch College (CUNY) and attended the New York University Stern School of Business. Walter is a trustee of The Baruch College Fund of Baruch College, City University of New York.
