Chris Leong rejoined The Argentum Group as a Principal after completing several years of management roles at growth stage ventures. Chris has over 12 years of operational (business development, sales, marketing) and venture capital / private equity experience. His areas of expertise include new deal origination, new investments, and corporate development (mergers & acquisitions) / business development / marketing for Argentum’s portfolio companies.

Prior to returning to Argentum in 2008, Chris spent over 5 years with Sirit Inc., a leading developer and supplier of Near Field Communications (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology. At Sirit, Chris was a key member of the executive team, where he held several senior management positions including VP NFC and Contactless, VP Corporate and Business Development, and VP Sales RF Solutions, and successfully grew revenues for numerous Sirit business divisions. In addition, Chris established Sirit’s Near Field Communications (NFC) division and was responsible for sourcing and securing several significant customers and partnerships across North America, Asia, and Europe, including NXP, Microsoft, BenQ / Qisda, Kyocera, and Intel.

Chris has also held corporate strategy and marketing positions at HorizonLive (now Wimba), a leading supplier of collaborative learning software applications and services to the education industry.

Previously, Chris was a Senior Associate with The Argentum Group and an analyst with the Lehman Brothers Merchant Banking Partners private equity fund. Chris is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
